Our founders, a group of former Scouts, believed that everyone, regardless of their health and circumstances, should have access to relaxation and fun. In other words, a proper holiday!
We provide family holiday accommodation in static caravans, some are adapted and accessible, at a significant discount. We welcome families or individuals whose lives are disadvantaged – be it through family illness, disability, frailty, or low income.
“I loved it, it was excellent, clean, great location, accessible, comfortable. From the moment I arrived there were so many lovely moments, the holiday was 100% and more. Thank you for allowing me some “me time” at a price I could afford.
In the late 1960s, Charles Porter, a former Rover Scout, set about improving his front garden. He installed a wishing well and soon found that people passing-by were throwing in coins. In the first year he raised £400.
Charles had two great-nieces with special needs. He saw how difficult it was for them to go on holiday, so he used the money to purchase an adapted caravan. He then decided the caravan should be made available to families living with disabilities or were disadvantaged. From this small start, the Holiday Homes Trust quickly grew.
We now have eight adapted and two non-adapted caravans at ten different holiday parks around the UK. Over 6,000 families have enjoyed holidays with us.
